Conditions Tofranil Treats

Tofranil is primarily used to treat major depression. After proving to be ineffective disorders like schizophrenia, Tofranil was observed to have extreme anti-depressant power, and was shown to be successful in curing many major depressions. Studies and researches showed that Tofranil behaved extremely intensely while performing its function of alleviating depression, and hence, Tofranil has been used to tackle with cases of depression for which normal treatments have failed. Apart from depression, Tofranil is currently used, both with and without other drugs, for the treatment of various ailments.
Tofranil is used to cure ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders as well as Post-Concussion syndrome (PCS), more commonly known as shell shock, which has many emotional, physical and behavioral symptoms. Studies have shown that Tofranil affects the opioid systems within the body. This is the reason why Tofranil has been used as analgesic. It is also used to Kleine-Levin Syndrome, which is a neurological disorder in which the patient suffers from excessive bouts of sleep.

In children, Tofranil is frequently used in the treatment of nocturnal enuresis, which is better known as bedwetting, in which children who should be able to control their urine are not able to do so. Bulimia, which is an eating disorder wherein the patient eats in excess, is also sometimes treated by Tofranil in combination with other drugs.
