What are Common Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder?

The symptoms of bipolar disorder have affected millions of Americans.  A person’s energy level, mood, and their ability to be able to function are some of the common identifiers in a person’s mood disorder that characterize bipolar symptoms.
Some factors that can trigger bipolar disorder are:

  • Major Event in a Person’s Life.  Certain events that may occur in a person’s life whether they are good or bad can cause the person to have a bipolar episode.
  • Stress.  From time to time, everyone deals with stress; however, a person that suffers from bipolar disorder finds it very difficult to handle stressful situations.
  • Sleep Deprivation.  The loss of sleep, even the lack of a few hours that have been missed, can generate a mania episode.
  • Medication.  Some prescribed medications, generally anti-depressants, tend to trigger an episode of mania.  Over-the-counter medications can also induce bipolar episodes.

Common symptoms:

  • Extreme irritability
  • Difficulty in concentration
  • Aggressive behaviors
  • Poor judgment
  • Abnormal increase in activities
  • Reckless behaviors
  • Racing thoug

If you are suffering from any of these symptoms, consult with your physician for an accurate mental health diagnosis.
