Common Treatment Options for Individuals with Reactive Depression

Reactive depression is a disease that results from mental and physical strains or psychological stress, without getting an adequate amount of rest for a long period of time. These strains completely wear out a person’s nervous system and deplete organisms from very important nutrients that are needed for the body’s system to function properly.

The most common treatment option for an individual that is suffering from reactive depression is an anti-depressant medication. These medicines are used to help treat depression and increase neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, that are within a person’s central nervous system.

Some examples of the medications that are used are:

  • Prozac
  • Luvox
  • Lexapro
  • Paxil
  • Celexa
  • Zolof

Psychotherapy is also another treatment option that can be completed while a person is on an anti-depressant.
Adjusting a person’s lifestyle is the best treatment option that only they can begin to do.
Lifestyle changes such as:

  • Meditation
  • Rest and sleep
  • Physical exercise
  • Live a stress free life
  • Take daily supplement

There are several options that are available for you to take, consult with your physician to discover which is best for you.
