What Does Manic Disorder Mean?

There are many different forms of depression that can be seen in individuals that are suffering from this type of illness. There is also a wide variety of common symptoms that people will often experience that are normally associated with various forms of depression. Some symptoms would include a lack of desire and energy to be able to perform various tasks and responsibilities in the home,

either not getting an adequate amount of sleep or sleeping an excessive amount of the time, a complete lack of interest in participating in any type of activities with friends and family, and the inability to engage in regular physical activities. However, with individuals that have what is known as manic disorder, they do not experience these low mood symptoms.

Generally a person with manic disorder will exhibit level of optimism that is considered as being unrealistic, have a hyperactive behavior, show an elevated mood level, and they normally require little sleep. There are several different physicians and specialists that consider the manic disorder to be the same type of disorder that bipolar is only that the phase of being depressed has simply not occurred yet.
