What Does Reactive Depression Mean?

Reactive depression is a type of depression that can be caused because of an individual that has suffered from a great deal of stress that is associated with psychological problems. It can also occur because of a lot of mental strain or physical struggles that he individual may be going through,

while not getting adequate amounts of sleep over an extended period of time. Another major factor that can cause this type of disorder is when an individual loses a close family member or friend. A loss such as this can be extremely hard to deal with and face, and in many cases it results in reactive depression. The reason that reactive depression occurs from these types of situations is because the nervous system will often become completely exhausted.

In other cases there may be a depletion of the substances that are naturally produced within the body that the nervous system uses for the amount of nutrients that it needs in order to be able to work as efficiently as it should. This is a type of disorder that can occur for a few weeks, it can last up to six months, and in some cases even longer.
