Side Effects of Venlafaxine

Venlafaxin is the main and most important drug which is used in the treatment of major depression disorder. As there is a saying in the past that every good is associated with some bad, majority of the drugs shows some or other side effects along with the treatment of  the disorder it is for.

Even this venlafaxin comes under this category, venlafaxin has huge list of side effects in which some are common and some are rare.

Common side effects are Headache, Insomnia, Sweating, Dry mouth, Nausea, Dizziness, Sexual dysfunction, Vertigo, Apathy, Fatigue, Constipation, Hypertension, decreased appetite, abnormal ejaculation, abnormal dreams, increased yawning, decreased libido, ongoing irritable bowel syndrome, orthostatic hypertension, impulsive actions, brain zaps(electric shock like sensations), increased anxiety, memory loss, restless legs syndrome.

In this side effects there are some rare or less common side effects those are cardiac arrhythmia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, increased serum cholesterol, confusion, gas or stomach pain, suicidal thoughts, abnormal vision, depresses feelings, nervousness, agitation or increased anxiety, panic effects, frequent urination, weight gain, aggression, visual hallucinations, homicidal thoughts, serious bone marrow damage, hair loss, hostility, activation of mania, external bleeding, seizure, dysphasia, tremor, and allergic skin reactions.
