How to Take Trimipramine

According to the standard dosage suggested for the treatment of depression, it varies person to person and it should be as per the direction of the physician. One should start the treatment with the lowest dose recommended by doctor and then it can be gradually increased. To get the proper effect of Trimipramine one should have to wait for number of days to number of weeks.

Like other antidepressant, Trimipramine should be taken as directed by your consultant physician to get a better effect of it. Normally, Trimipramine is available in form of capsules in the form of 25-mg, 50-mg and 100-mg. One should start taking it at 75mg to 100mg of dosage per day. Once getting habituated with it them dosage should increase to 200 mg daily. Many patients who are hospitalized having severe depression should at least go with 300 mg per day. Within single dose a person can take up to 200 mg. Those people who are above the age of 60 they should start their dosage with 50 mg per day and then slowly they should increase it to 100 mg per day but should not go beyond this limit.

Before taking this prescribed medicine elder person should check their blood pressure and cardiac rhythm. It is recommended for those patients who have unbalanceds cardiovascular function.
