How to Take Wellbutrin

The antidepressant Wellbutrin is taken in pill form and is one of the prescription only medications, along with its generic Bupropion comes in several strengths that the physician will prescribe in one of these. Wellbutrin can be found available in 75mg and 100mg, the generic Bupropion can also be found in 75mg and 100mg.
The first step is to be diagnosed and the physician will prescribe the antidepressant medication for the depressive disorder or one of the other conditions this antidepressant medication is prescribed, after considering other medical conditions, weight and age what dosage will be the best.
This is an extended or sustained release tablet and with regular Wellbutrin or Bupropion it is normally prescribed to be taken three to four times daily with dosages at least six hours apart. These tablets should be swallowed, not chewed or crushed and should never be taken more than prescribed by the physician.

In many cases the physician will begin at a lower dosage and it can take up to 4 weeks for the full benefits of Wellbutrin or generic Bupropion. This medication should not be stopped even after feeling better and will be decreased gradually by the physician when it is no longer needed.
